I bribed the girls into cleaning their play room "quickly and without fighting" I told them if they did I would bring down the rest of their stuffed animal from the closet. I don't know why I would bring in MORE toys, but it was said and done. We have tons of stuffed animals. Mainly from Build-a-Bear, we are big fans! They were super excited though and at least now I'll have something to take away if they don't keep their room clean. In the end the room was clean, there was not 1 argument and everyone went to bed happy with "new" babies. Win win!

Ashley is SO interested in these little herbs. Everyday she asks if she can see them. 2 out of 3 are now sprouting. I'm very proud!

What do you call Kit Kat pieces? A bar? A stick? My oldest daughter surprised me one day when she asked if she could have a "space bar" She was about 4 years old. Very clever! If you think about it, it really does look like a space bar.
I brought one home the other day and she said "remember when I called it a space bar?" How could I forget?

My youngest daughter almost always comes out of class with her hair messy! I don't know what happens in the 2 hours she's at school but that hair is never the same. I had to take a picture of it.

I've been carrying my camera everywhere these days. I've stopped carrying my purse and have switched to just a wallet. Luckily my wallet is just big enough for some lip gloss! Can't leave home without that! :) Just as I was about to walk out the door I noticed my bottle of perfume was sitting perfectly in the light shining down from the window. My camera stayed home the rest of the day, I got what I needed.

My husband got promoted today! It was very exciting and came unexpected since he's only been there 8 months, but we'll take it! He gets new uniforms too, so I took a picture of what he usually wears just to remember this day :)

Today we went to a ladybug release at a park in our neighborhood. Ashley loves anything nature so of course she was SO ready when it was time to play with some little buggys. The lady who was doing the releasing tried to separate people who wanted bugs on them and didn't. I don't think the bugs got that memo, they were everywhere! It was a little gross for me, but the girls loved it.

Sleepover! My girls love having sleepovers, tonight we decided to do make overs as well. Nat wanted to do it on her own, I let her put on her own blush. I've seen her put eyeshadow on before and that girl loves color! She was so excited to "look like mommy"

So, I went to have coffee with my girlfriends this morning and my husband decided to cook some bacon on the grill. I'll never deny him when he wants to cook. The bacon actually came out really good and he is now the new bacon bbq-er. We decided to cook some burgers on the grill that night for dinner. Apparently he didn't clean the grill as good as he thought. There were flames. The first thing I thought was OMG! then I was like hold on don't put it out, let me get my camera! :) Here is the end result

These girls! I loved the way Natalie was dressed today, my little Lakers girl :) It was totally on accident and I noticed about 15 minutes before we were going to leave for school. I wanted to take a picture of her and she was playing with her fake cell phone, of course Ashley wanted in on the photo taking action too! She set the scene and told Nat, "...ok, now let's pretend we're fighting over the phone like teenagers"

YAY! Finally feeling better! I missed my camera and felt guilty for the last photo. My daughter was happy to pose for me. I tried to get a candid of her reading and watching tv at the same time but she caught me and tried to pose. She's my biggest fan and I love her for that :)

I finally got to rest. I'm going to say this was my time to get sick for the year. It happens only once usually. Needless to say I was not into taking pictures. So this is what I did...turned my camera on, left the lens cap on, snapped a photo, and turned the camera off. I was done!
14/365
The night before I remembered I wanted to sign up for the local consignment event that happens twice a year. It was my first time and totally forgot about it. I signed up with 2 hours to spare! Little did I know I had 1 day to enter all the clothes and 2 days to iron and hang and tag them all. I had 96 items! Oh and I was still sick, wonderful! This is what I was seeing by the end of the night....
13/365
I was sick this day. I was determined to fight it, I suffered most of the day while my husband was at work but as soon as he got home I went to the store to buy all the ingredients to make chicken soup. I also bought tangerines. I was willing to try anything, I don't like being sick. The soup was delish and I think it helped a little.

Alright! I'm catching up :) I keep trying to come back and catch up but with a picture everyday I keep getting more and more behind. See what happens when you get sick?!?! So the night before I got sick we went to a friends house to hang out. We always have fun, it's relaxing and nice to be able to just hang out. Plus there is always a fun spread...usually a bunch of different chips and dips, why not? It's easy! :)
I heart faces...Chalk!
The challenge for I heart faces this week is "Chalk" My girls love chalk, our back yard walls are covered in it. There's also crumbled pieces of it all over the the ground too. I can't get them to keep it picked up. Oh well, what are you gonna do? I've been trying out the manual settings on my camera now and then and decided to try it out tonight with this challenge. I think I need more practice but I like the way this photo turned out.

I heart faces...Smirk
So I decided to finally enter one of my photos in a I Heart Faces weekly challenge. I’ve always wanted to do it but never did. I hope I do it right!
The challenge this week is “Smirk” I tried to set one up this weekend and was happy with the photo I chose but then I remembered I had another one. This one is way more fitting. Plus I like that it wasn’t staged.
My daughter came home from a sleepover with a cute little mask and was making faces with it on. Her sister and I were cracking up! I still laugh every time I look at it.

A little behind...
Ok, so, like 2 weeks in and I’m already behind. I have 1 excuse, I got sick. I haven’t lagged on my daily photo though. So here’s my half credit. Facebook is pretty much up to date. I’m working on some photos today and I will try to catch up later today if my girls let me.
11/365
I forgot to post my photo yesterday! I at least posted it on facebook so I get half credit. I was SO tired yesterday, thank GOD today is Friday! We took a drive down to the strip and headed on over to MGM so the girls could see the lions and the fish at Rain Forest Cafe. I saw a bride and groom shopping. I wanted to badly to take a picture of them but I didn’t want to seem creepy haha. So I stuck to the fish. I took it as a sign though, seeing as I might be photographing 3 weddings in the new year! Actually 1 definite maybe in October! It’s for sure because it’s my sister
I can’t wait, I’m SO happy for her! She just needs to hurry up and give me the date
On that note, here is my fave from yesterday.

We have had beautiful weather this week! I’m so excited for Fall, it’s one of my favorite seasons. Since both my girls are in school, playdates are over! Well at least for them
I went to the park today to hang out with my friends and their little ones. The weather was too nice to stay inside. So here’s my fave photo of the day.
Today was the first day of homework for my Kindergartner. She hated it! She still loves school, homework, not so much. What are you gonna do? She shed some tears and erased a LOT. She eventually got through it and was happy with the end result. I learned something new about her today, she’s a perfectionist. If something was just not to her liking she would erase it and cry. I’m hoping this will get easier as the year goes on. Time will only tell.
So this picture is dedicated to the tears she shed today
It’s our homework supply box, I love the organization of it. Hmm…I wonder where Nat gets her little quirks from?

I had a massive headache today. While laying in bed all I could think about was what I would photograph today. Luckily the 4 Motrin worked in a couple hours! I was cooking dinner and my daughter was supposed to be cleaning up her game box but I saw her just sitting there doing something. I went around to look and she was stacking the checker pieces in a pattern. Instead of getting annoyed because she wasn’t cleaning I of course picked up the camera. She loves to do things like that, stacking things, puzzles, patterns even peeling paper off of crayons. Anything to keep her little hands busy, I love it! I’m adding more than 1 photo today, only because I can’t choose which are my favorite
The first is my “365 project” photo.
7/365
I took a few photos today and I didn’t like any of them. When I was cooking dinner I decided to bust out the camera and snap a few photos. I always love food pictures, not because of the food but because of the colors. I was also excited to use my cast iron skillet for the first time.

My oldest daughter went to her first sleepover of the school year last night. They made cute little sleeping masks and pillows. Of course, she couldn’t find either craft. There were a couple extra masks that my friend made so she sent home one for her and an extra for her sister. Yay!
I know I have an entire year of pictures and my family will be the stars of this project, but I have to admit I feel guilty taking pictures of one child and not the other. So Here is Ashley…sort of…the rest of her face will most likely show up soon.

My oldest daughter went to a sleepover tonight. That meant my other daughter and I got to have our own sleepover. I put a blanket down and a bunch of pillows and we snuggled up to watch Camp Rock 2!

My daughter found some Tinkerbell rings from her birthday while we were cleaning out the car. She looked so cute playing with them I had to snap a few photos.

A few days ago I discovered a few buildings that were full of graffiti. It was more ‘artsty’ than vandalism. I love that kind of stuff. I kindly asked my husband to go with me since I was a little scared to go alone.
I now wonder what it looks like at sunset!
Day 1/365
Today I start my year long journey with my camera. I hope to become a better photographer and learn about myself and my camera. Today was also the first day of school for my daughters! 1st day of Kindergarten for my baby and 1st day of first grade for my oldest. So many firsts and my emotions were/are all over the place today. I held it together though and didn’t cry
On my way home I saw a humming bird and was SO happy I had my camera with me! I’ve always wanted to photograph a humming bird in action. I heard they were lucky
So here is my first photo of the year….
Can I commit?
I’ve been thinking about doing 365 days. Maybe that’s why I started this blog, subconsciously. I think I should. It’ll give me a project of sort. Maybe even ease the pain of my baby going to Kindergarten. I’ll have something to do with my mornings. School starts Monday, maybe I’ll start Monday too…
Little Steps
I’ve been sitting here for about 10 minutes with my fingers on my keyboard wondering how to start. Do I go stalk other photographers blogs and see how they began? No, because then I’ll be influenced by someone else. Should I start by talking about who I am, what I’m doing here, when I started this obsession with photography? Nah, that’s boring! Should I try to be professional and just get to the point of posting my favorite photos? That’s kind of boring too. (By the way, I just typed 4 different sentences and erased them all…I guess we’re not going the professional route! haha) This will probably get deleted anyway so whatever.
I love taking pictures! That’s all that matters

A new start
Alright, I had another blog but it kept hiding my photos and then one day they were gone. They came back later that night but it still freaked me out. I can't deal with that. SO.....I'm starting all over, kinda. I didn't have too many posts so I think I'll just copy paste from the old blog. It's more for me than anyone else, I need to have everything in one place or my brain will go crazy.
Please don't fail me Google! :)
